SF Babes Poll Number 4

Last week we again had only a plurality winner, so this week I will force you to choose a winner - no split decisions here, as I will cast any required tie-breaking vote.

I present for your consideration the two lovely ladies of Buck Rogers In the 25th Century, Princess Ardala (played by Pamela Hensley) and Wilma Deering (played by Erin Grey).

This week's poll has a place near and dear in my heart, as a debate I had with a certain Llamabutcher over the relative aesthetic merits of these two attractive women's characters in the silly TV show led to this site becoming the center of the SF Babe universe (at least according to Google).

As always, vote early and often.

Update: Welcome, Vodkapundit readers! Make yourselves at home, and please, Vote Ardala!

Results (Posted 14 October 2004):

SF Babes - Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
ardala.jpgPrincess Ardala
67 Votes
47%
deering.jpgWilma Deering
75 Votes
53%

But Texas has 34 electoral votes to Virginia's measley little 13, so Ardala wins. Ha! Take that, Llamas!

Ardala. No question. C'mon, a jeweled bikini and horns? You can't beat that.
Plus, her villainy revolved around the fact that she wanted to fuck buck. If ONLY real-life villainy worked that way...

Ardala. As Jeff said... Horny... Villainy... That is just plain ole sexy...

Your pollster is a biased pollster. Thanks both of you for stating so succinctly why Ardala wins, hands down (not sure I would/could have stated it that way in late elementary school when I had a crush on Ardala). Please note that our favorite villainess is currently trailing the ice-queen-girl-scout, so get out the vote for Ardala!

Man, Princess Ardala all the way. I've avoided voting in your other polls since I have little current interest. However. I still remember watching the "ballroom dance" scene in the first episode.

If I can't have Buck, give him to the Princess.

Oh, you guys are SO MISSING IT!!! The whole point of Wilma is to turn that goody-two-shoes into your dirty little play thing. Getting the tramp is easy.....getting the good girl to go bad, now THAT'S FUN!

Posted by: bubbster at October 11, 2004 04:31 PM

Sorry, sounds more like work than fun. And her name's Wilma, dude. Everytime you say her name you'd be tempted to let a Fred Flintstone "Willllmaaaaaa!" rip.

Remember that episode where Erin Grey's character had to go undercover as some sort of prostitute, and at some point somebody ripped her dress to confirm that she had the special tatoo proving that she was one of the official prostitutes?

That was hot. I bet if you saw it, you'd think twice about voting for Ardalla.

This one is really close. I mean like Maryanne & Ginger close. But I've always been a Maryanne guy, so I have to go with Wilma here.

I'm sorry, I must abstain. I remember the episode that a rather young Jamie Lee Curtis played a character named (according to your linked site) Jen Burton. As I recall, she wore this red body suit that looked like it was spray painted on. I don't remember much about that episode except for her, but I'll take Jen Burton over both Wilma and Ardalla.

I think the very idea of a contest demeans both women. The right thing would be to have them both. Play them against each other.

Steve, if you can find a link to a picture of her, send it to me (or put it in a comment here) and I will consider giving her an honorable mention in the "results" posting, as I did with Flight Corporal Rigel in last week's Battlestar babes poll.

Willllllllllllllllllmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Erin Grey STILL is pretty nice for a 54-year old. And to refresh your memory of how fly she was, see here.

Erin Grey. No doubt about it. I've had a crush on her for a LOOOOONNNGGG time!

Posted by: Mike Rentner at October 13, 2004 06:09 PM

Erin Grey without doubt.

Posted by: glossyp at October 13, 2004 06:30 PM

OK Monk, good link. My response -- Ardala lookin' superfly.

I admit that there are some good pics of Wilma, but you've also got these bad ones to explain.

Posted by: JohnL at October 13, 2004 06:49 PM

Erin Grey! I had a major league lust for that lady.

Posted by: P.J. O'Rourke at October 13, 2004 07:08 PM

I have to go with the good Colonel on this one.

Sorry.

Posted by: Michael E. Lopez, Esq. at October 13, 2004 07:12 PM

Erin Grey. Definitely.

Posted by: Tanya at October 13, 2004 08:04 PM

No question at all -- Wilma. Grey was the only reason why Silver Spoons stayed on the air for as long as it did.

Posted by: Irishman at October 13, 2004 09:31 PM

Ardala was quite icky. And manipulative. And dumb.
But mostly she was icky. Made my skin crawl.

Wilma all the way.

Posted by: david at October 13, 2004 10:12 PM

Only Erin Grey could have made a name like "Wilma" sexy.

Posted by: Incomniac at October 13, 2004 10:45 PM

Colonel Wilma Deering, in a New Chicago minute. Evil princess isn't my style, but Lycra-clad ice-on-the-outside fighter pilot is. Besides, Wilma doesn't have a creepy bodyguard wandering about that you'd have to fight in the morning.

Posted by: The Country Pundit at October 13, 2004 10:50 PM

While Erin is a cutie, Hensley is a hottie!

Va-voom! Haou-yaaa.

Princess Ardala, hands down. And I ain't sayin' what the hands are down on...
