Yet Another Theology Quiz

Rob keeps retaking tests and getting the same result.

Here's a slightly more sophisticated one, the Belief-O-Matic, as it tests you on 20 questions ranked by importance.

I took this quiz a couple of years ago and it told me I was a Reform Jew. I definitely like the Reform Jew congregation members I have met, I just don't think I could ever adjust culturally to the different mode of communal worship. As long as there is a semi-traditional Methodist church around, that's where I'll be when I go to church.

In any case, my beliefs must have changed a small amount over the last few years, as I am now more Unitarian (100%) than Reform Jew (94%). I am also - disturbingly - barely more liberal Christian than Islamic.

I would be interested in seeing your top 5 results in comments (or post them at your blog and trackback here).

Here are my full results:

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Reform Judaism (94%)
3. Liberal Quakers (90%)
4. Secular Humanism (84%)
5. Neo-Pagan (83%)

Okay, I'll bite:

Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestant- 100%
Orthodox Quaker- 92%
Eastern Orthodox- 89%
Roman Catholic- 89%
Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant- 86%

I don't like some of the question choices, but I'd guess the end result is fairly accurate. What amuses me is that while Quaker comes in at 92%, the nonviolence part would pretty much kill any thoughts of following that path.

At least I only hit 27% in Scientology.

1. Eastern Orthodox (100%)
2. Roman Catholic (100%)
3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (95%)
4. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (86%)
5. Orthodox Judaism (83%)

And if the Internet says it, it must be true.

That was kind of interesting.

1. Sikhism (100%)
2. Reform Judaism (95%)
3. Islam (83%)
4. Orthodox Judaism (83%)
5. Bahá'í Faith (78%)

I'm a little surprised that my acceptance of homosexuality as something that should not be condemned allowed both Islam and Orthodox Judaism into my top 5. I have no idea how Sikhs feel about that issue. Interestingly enough, the one faith I do adhere to, sort of, didn't even make the top 27 -- Conservative Judaism. Oh well, I'm really probably closer to Reform anyway.

I don't get this *at* *all*, but here we go:
1. Orthodox Quaker (100%) [Quoi? I swear I answered "disagree" on the pacifism question!]
2. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (98%)
3. Eastern Orthodox (98%)
4. Roman Catholic (98%)
Well, at least Scientology ranked low.

Thank you all for sharing your results.

In my top 5, I was very surprised at the Quakers, since I answered as a non-pacifist with a "very important" rating next to it. The Neo-Paganism also struck me as a big surprise.

I took this once before (long long ago -- at least by blog years), and I'm still about the same:

1. Neo-Pagan (100%)
2. New Age (84%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (75%)
4. Mahayana Buddhism (72%)
5. Liberal Quakers (68%)

My church membership is with the United Church of Christ -- what *really* worries me about this is that fact that for me, Scientology came up #9...

I answered every question with the straight atheist answer. Naturally, the non-theist category was only in 7th place. Fairly worthless quiz.

It's a common misconception that all Quakers are
pacifist. I looked up some info to back this claim up: In 1927 the
majority of Quakers were nonpacifist, " Some 90% of eligeible Quakers
served on active duty in the U.S. armed forces [in WWII]", and an official
statement from FGC (Friends General Conference) "While the Quaker Peace
Testimony stands against war, not all young Friends have such a leading,
and they should be respected for their individual convictions".

A very nonpacifist Quaker who also scored as a reformed Jew
