Now...if they also do the independents and the Flandry tales, we'll be sitting pretty. And I wonder if they'll include the one short story in The Canon that has, as far as I've been able to determine, been collected, a short work called "Sargasso of Lost Spaceships" (Whoops! See comments for correction information! I was thinking of a classic Andre Norton book, Sargasso of Space!). I finally bought it in the original magazine appearance (Planet Stories), but would like it in something a little less...pulpy.

Great news!
Over the years, I ran out of room and had to get rid of a lot of sf books. I now have multiple bookshelves. At the local used book store, I started picking up some Poul Anderson books. Included in my last purchases were The Enemy Stars, Flandry of Terra, The Earthbook of Stormgate, and his collaboration with Gordon Dickson-Star Prince Charlie.

Hi,

I'm not sure where you got the listing of the first two of the Tech. Civ. volumes (maybe I should start locking my desk drawer), but "Sargasso of Lost Starships" (you slightly misremembered the title) will be in the third volume. Behold the contents:

Volume III: Rise of the Terran Empire
Mirkheim (novel, last appearance of Van Rijn)
"Wingless" (short story)
"Rescue on Avalon" (short story)
"The Star Plunderer" (novella)
"Sargasso of Lost Starships" (novella)
The People of the Wind (novel)

And Ensign Dominic Flandry, young and a little wet behind the ears at first, will make his entrance in the fourth volume. We're doing the whole Technic Civilization enchilada.

Wow! Famous Baen author visits not-so-famous person from Baen's Bar who posts stuff at Texas Best Grok!

Actually I think I got the listing of the contents a while back from a posting that Toni W. did in her corner of "the Bar".

As for the "Sargasso" mixup...whoops! I was, it appears, influenced by the Andre Norton "Solar Queen" tale! I'm glad to see that story is **finally** making it into print after its only (?) appearance in the magazine "Planet Stories"!

Thanks for stopping by at Texas Best Grok. If you poke around, you'll see that I review quite a number of Baen's tomes.
