Why, Oh Lord, Why?
Is there no original thought in Hollywood? Just what we need (after what I've been hearing on the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still) a whole bunch of remakes!
Posted by Fred Kiesche at December 11, 2008 09:13 AMGhostbusters I get. You can come back 20 years later with a kickass revisit. (See T2.) But Robocop? The studios don't have the guts to make a film as cool and violent as the first Robocop, so why bother? Because now you can CG the whole movie instead of just ED209? And the rest? Crap.
Posted by: Phelps at December 11, 2008 05:48 PMI look forward to another interpretation of Dune. I hated David Lynch's version. Loathed it, despised it, spat upon it...
I'm also looking forward to more Terminator movies, as I have really been enjoying The Sarah Connor Chronicles, especially the way they have hinted at different (multiple) timelines as a nice way to gloss over the time travel paradoxes.
As for the rest? Meh.
Posted by: JohnL at December 11, 2008 08:21 PMOf all these "The Illustrated Man" is the only one that deserves better than its original production. Rod Steiger was a good actor, and the story segments very strong, but considered as a whole it was a mess. Logan's Run follows second if they keep to the original book more closely.
