The Wallet Cringes

Following up on the previous entry, I really recommend a visit to The Agony Column's audio page and Adventures in Sci-Fi Publishing (silly name, that). I've been downloading podcasts like mad; and even if I've never heard of the author, or have had any interest in the genre being discussed, I've been finding a lot of stuff that is making its way to my wish list!

The combination of an iPod (or other MP3 player) and a fast connection (at work, still on dial-up at home!) is a dangerous thing. I've also been downloading like mad from: Balticon Podcast; Beam Me Up; The Biblio File; Conversations with Apollo; The Future and You; Honeysuckle Creek; I Should Be Writing; NYAS Science and the City; Oxford Dictionary of National Biography; Radio Lab; Sci-Fi Talk; Slice of SciFi; StarShipSofa; Studio 360.

YMMV. These shows all vary widely in terms of quality. The best are, not so oddly, those done by folks already in the field (Radio Lab). But, whether it is a extended conversation with William Gibson that goes beyond the soundbites that the mainstream media puts up or an extended conversation with David Drake, you'll find hours of good stuff on the internet. Did somebody say radio was dead?
